end of spring break / end of gossip girl

well spring break went by rather fast...

(AND SO DID THAT EPISODE OF GOSSIP GIRL. OMG!! HOW MANY TIMES CAN I SAY IT...I LOVE CHUCK BASS.)

ahem.

I didn't do much but I still had a lot of fun, shopped a bit and ate a LOT of good food.
Roasted bone marrow
Roasted Bone Marrow
Pork Pâté, Lingua Agrodolce, Gabagool/Coppa, Jamon Serrano, Finocchiona Salami, Majorcan Sobrasada, Prosciutto di Parma, Catalonian Fuet, and butterscotch budino for dessert. mmmmmmm...

and of course, no good weather graced Chicago so I was stuck freezing my buns off in leggings and a cardigan. bleh. not to worry! tomorrow's forecast calls for a sunny 60 degrees (not nearly as nice as the mid 70s that will be here on Wednesday or the 80 DEGREE WEATHER on Thursday and Friday!!!)

I'm thinking this outfit will do
spring outfit
vintage linen barong from the Philippines, high waisted demin skirt from H&M, vintage Mignani boots, jewelry from Forever21 and H&M.

you could call it a wish list I guess

just some things that are constantly on my mind or that I spend countless hours looking at on the web and the few that I actually spend time doing...

MIU MIU SS10 - Safe to say, I am in love with everything about it. The prints!!! Those birds, cats, and naked ladies are glorious, who else is sick of polka dots and dare I say it...stripes? The braids!!! A few more months without a trip to the salon and I will be able to plait my hair in the same fashion. The lean cut (of everything the pants, the skirts, the dresses)!!! The collar/chest/sheer detailing!!! THE SHOES!!!! Enough said.
Can I add that Jane Aldridge you are my nemesis for owning a pair! You too Tavi Gevinson even if it was only for a short while that you did...

the goddamn weather. I know I live in Chicago but can we just get a break? I need some sun now and then. It's getting so bad I just want to move to California or something. which reminds me...
"Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard.
Live in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft.
Travel."
I wish I could just travel the world and be a food critic. I'd be happy for the rest of my life. But I digress, back to the list!

eating fro-yo. it is my new favorite food, which is strange because I normally only have a sweet tooth for chocolate. it is a good replacement for lunch, at least for me. but ONLY the original with yogurt chips, banana-chocolate granola, and peanut butter pretzels. MMMMMMMM...

others: listening to Kid Cudi's Pursuit of Happiness, debating on whether or not to delete my facebook, attempting to figure out how that whole 'mind over matter' thing works, continuing my lesbian crush on Olivia Lopez, and trying in vain to obtain a lookbook invite code (SOMEONE HELP ME OUT HERE).

and here are a few things that I do not want to happen, or continue to happen, or ever happen at all.
(why am I ending on a sad note? because I am a REALIST...pardon me, pessimist...)

...on second thought, you don't need to know these.

SIKE!

it's midterm week and I can't focus

I could not even begin to explain my love for the Louis Vuitton Fall 2010 collection. I have always been a fan but this collection is honestly nothing like before. The show closed PFW with what Miuccia Prada started earlier in the season...the whole man's-kind-of-woman look; a nod to legs, with voluminous A-line skirts accenting the rear and pinching the waist, and a focus on the bosom with corset inspiration. It was as if Bardot's sex appeal had been wrapped in one of Betty Draper's tailored outfits and then been relocated to France. Bow-adorned block-heeled pumps! Doctor bags galore! PETTICOAT SKIRTS!! IN LEATHER?!?! I'm starting to hyperventilate...

that's it...I'm starting to wear gloves with day dresses...

sorry guys, but this outfit is hotter than anything I've seen Ms. Ambrosio wear from Victoria's Secret

look at that jacket. and that skirt.
one word:
HEAVEN

FAVORITE OUTFIT!!!!!

Marc, you are amazing, I swear I could wear this and even I'd have boobs...

fur collar. noted. will be incorporating into an outfit ASAP

can someone I know please get married so I can wear this to their wedding? can that same person also buy this dress for me?

speaking of weddings...
THIS IS WHAT I'M GETTING MARRIED IN.

favorite things

Saturday night I wore a new favorite outfit of mine. Glasses from UO, chambray button-up shirt dress from J.Crew, vest from H&M, tights from Victoria's Secret, socks borrowed from KT, and shoes from Forever21. (you can't see the outfit very well...this is what I get for not being able to buy a tripod and not knowing how to work the self-timer on my camera!)

new favorite outfit

some other favorite things:
finding cowboy boots in a size 5!! I will be acquiring them during my next trip to Belmont Army, the random bell sleeved hoodie I bought from Target which is so comfy I could live in it, and the current (and somewhat) bearable weather in Chicago

spring fever

this weather is such a tease. it doesn't really feel like 50 degrees outside when it is also cloudy and rainy. at least all the snow has melted. I just want it to be SPRING and I want to be able to wear a dress without tights and my peacoat (though a trench coat would obviously be allowed).

other things I cannot wait for...
my Jeffrey Campbell charlie clogs to come in, some nude pumps that I have yet to purchase, and an outfit that overdoses on floral print!!

M.A.S.S. outfit

This weekend I helped a few friends at Supermarket Tuxedos film a short called METH: A Sucess Story. It was a lot of fun and the video turned out great, it's hilarious.

in it I'm wearing the back bow striped tunic dress from Topshop (go to the website so you can see a better view of the back of the dress, which is the best part) and BDG studded suede boots from UO.
