I'm trying to figure out what to wear but have just spent the last half-hour admiring my new summer straw hat from J.Crew. (Am I crazy?)

Oh how I cannot wait for the perfect 60 degree spring day to bust out this baby along with a white dress and some wooden platforms...Sigh.

fall ramblings

It's the end of September. First of all, does anyone want to tell me how that happened?? Am I the only one who's wondering where this whole month went?

I'm sitting here, have been for almost an hour now, racking my brain for what I did this past month.

Answer(s):

1. Class - Maybe because I'm stuck at a school that I absolutely DISLIKE (dislike? yes. 'hate' seemed too strong a word) but it seems that during the dronings of my "professors" or as I like to call them very-qualified-individuals-in-their-field-but-seriously-lacking-in-giving-proper-instruction-and-the-mere-skills-required-to-educate I find myself day dreaming about graduating so I can get out of here (HELLO L.A./Milan/NYC) and do something that I actually enjoy.

2. Work - Which I guess now would be 'worked.' UGHHHH long story. (Is anything in my life ever NOT complicated?)

3. NOTHING - Which I realize is up to me to change. You must be the change you want to see in the world blah blah blah...thanks Ghandi!

I AM WAY TOO SERIOUS SOMETIMES.

summer nail color

With the end of summer steadily approaching and me not having sported any sort of summer-only-color, I figured it was now or never. Robin's egg blue was a major trend (thanks to Chanel Nouvelle Vague No. 527) but I really liked OPI's Shrek collection. The color I used was from a sample size so unfortunately I can't give you the name.

I'm wearing a blazer from UO, vintage tank and vintage Levi's.

I also picked up a few other colors: (left to right) Allure by Essie, Coney Island Cotton Candy by OPI and Jade is the New Black by OPI.

Saturday night I wore a new favorite outfit of mine. Glasses from UO, chambray button-up shirt dress from J.Crew, vest from H&M, tights from Victoria's Secret, socks borrowed from KT, and shoes from Forever21. (you can't see the outfit very well...this is what I get for not being able to buy a tripod and not knowing how to work the self-timer on my camera!)

some other favorite things:

finding cowboy boots in a size 5!! I will be acquiring them during my next trip to Belmont Army, the random bell sleeved hoodie I bought from Target which is so comfy I could live in it, and the current (and somewhat) bearable weather in Chicago

This weekend I helped a few friends at Supermarket Tuxedos film a short called METH: A Sucess Story. It was a lot of fun and the video turned out great, it's hilarious.

At Chloé, utilitarian outerwear pieces ruled - as well as khakis, boyish button-downs, and flat leather sandals.

Alexander Wang's collection was sportswear with a slightly sexy, feminine touch. Boots were paired with knee length socks and hair was swept into big side braids.
